OSWEGO, Ill. (April 23, 2025) — Rend Lake College's Lady Warriors golf team has punched their ticket to the NJCAA national tournament. The Lady Warriors secured 3rd place at Central District Championship and were Region 24 champs. Now the team is setting their sights on the national tournament, May 13-16, at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone, Iowa.

Sophomore Josie Walker (Massac County) put together a great performance both days of the championship, ranking sixth with an 92-87-179.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Coombes (Paris, Ill., 89-95-184) also made significant contributions to the team's success, finishing in the top 10 at seventh place.

Rounding off the leaderboard for The Lake — freshman Lauren Lowery (Waltonville, 104-99-203) finished 12th and freshman Gracie Loker (Keenes, 120-110-230) finished 22nd.

Gray expressed immense pride in the team's achievement. "Region 24 champs and 3rd at district! After day one, we were down by 13 shots, but to finish just 2 shots short of 2nd? That’s the kind of fight and heart this team brings to the course. On to Iowa in a month!"
