INA, Ill. (October 27, 2025) — RLC Athletics Department is proud to recognize sophomore libero Ella Wesselmann (Hoyelton) as the Student Athlete of the Month. The honor highlights Wesselmann's exceptional performance in volleyball and her commitment her academics.

Wesselmann excelled for the Lady Warrior Volleyball team during the 2025-26 season. She led the team with 739 total digs across 37 matches, averaging an impressive 5.91 digs per set. Additionally, she contributed offensively with 41 service aces.

Academically, Wesselmann is majoring in Early Childhood Education and is set to graduate with an Associate in Arts degree in Spring 2026.

"I think being named Student Athlete of the Month is an honor," said Wesselmann. "It makes me feel like I'm being recognized for all the hard work I’ve put in. I think it definitely represents a part of my leadership and skills because I was recognized from a large group of amazing girls."

The student athlete of the month is given each month to recognize our athletes on and off the field. The winner’s picture will be on display at the entrance of the REC for all of those who come into workout or practice.
